USFA On-Duty Death: Texas

The United States Fire Administration has announced the death of Assistant Chief Jonathon Coco, 25, of the Maxwell Community Volunteer Fire Department on 20 June 2022.

Two brothers, Assistant Chief Jonathon Coco and Firefighter Hunter Coco, were returning from the scene of a wildland fire on Texas Highway 20 in a brush truck when the driver of a privately owned vehicle failed to yield and was struck by the truck. The brush truck rolled over killing both Assistant Chief Jonathon Coco and Firefighter Hunter Coco.
