USFA On-Duty Death: Florida

EMMITSBURG, Maryland – The United States Fire Administration has announced the on-duty death of Captain Thomas M. Barber, 51, of the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department on June 14, 2021.

On Sunday, June, 13, 2021, Captain Thomas M. Barber responded to a medical call at a residence. Early the next morning on Monday, June 14, 2021, Captain Barber went into cardiac arrest at his home.  He was rushed to the hospital where he passed away shortly after arrival.
