USFA On-Duty Death: Virginia

The United States Fire Administration has announced the death of Firefighter-EMT Linzie Scott Collins, 50, of Richland Fire – EMS on 16 November 2025.

On November 15, 2025, Firefighter-EMT Linzie Scott Collins was on duty from 10:00 a.m. until 6 p.m. During this shift, Firefighter-EMT Collins responded to two calls. The following day at 1:15 a.m., the wife of Firefighter-EMT Collins found him in distress. Firefighter-EMT Collins stopped breathing and CPR was performed. Firefighter-EMT Collins was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased at 3:24 a.m.
