The United States Fire Administration has announced the death of Firefighter Luke Gehlhausen, 41, of the Celestine Volunteer Fire Department on 7 September 2025.
Celestine Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire at approximately 7:15 p.m. on September 7, 2025. While responding in his personal vehicle, Firefighter Luke Gehlhausen was involved in a single vehicle crash. Firefighter Gehlhausen was fatally injured in the motor vehicle accident and pronounced dead at the scene.
