USFA On-Duty Death: North Carolina

The United States Fire Administration has announced the death of Firefighter Christopher Rothmeyer, 27, of the New London Volunteer Fire Department on 5 March 2025.

While responding to an emergency incident, Firefighter Christopher Rothmeyer crashed on NC Highway 8. Numerous responders administered life-saving measures to Firefighter Rothmeyer at the scene. Firefighter Rothmeyer was then transported to a nearby hospital where he passed away from the injuries he sustained in the crash.
