The United States Fire Administration has announced the death of Captain Adam “Pugsley” J. Kuspa, 41, of the Elkhart Fire Department on 6 January 2025.

On Saturday, October 26, 2024, Captain Adam “Pugsley” J. Kuspa was performing training at a movie theatre that was getting torn down. He stepped out of the ladder bucket and hurt his knee. He had surgery in December 2024 and was recuperating at home and attending physical therapy. On Monday, January 6, 2025, a blood clot broke loose in his leg and he suffered a massive pulmonary embolism and passed away.
