The United States Fire Administration has announced the death of Captain George Turley, 58, of the Chattanooga Fire Department on 14 December 2024.

On Saturday, December 14, 2024, Captain George Turley was performing physical fitness activities while working at the fire station when he collapsed. Aid was immediately rendered by colleagues, and he was then transported to the local hospital where he was pronounced deceased a short time later. The cause of his death has yet to be determined.
