The United States Fire Administration has announced the death of Battalion Chief John Walsh, 60, of the Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire on 20 November 2024.

On Wednesday, November 20, 2024, Battalion Chief John Walsh was in command of a house fire when he collapsed. He was immediately transported to the hospital where he passed away. The cause of his death has yet to be determined.
