The United States Fire Administration has announced the death of Battalion Chief Tony Ray Garrison, 51, of the Fairview Volunteer Fire Department on 27 September 2024.
On Friday, September 27, 2024, Battalion Chief Tony Ray Garrison was assisting in the rescue of victims of a landslide during the response to Hurricane Helene, when a second landslide occurred. He passed away from the injuries sustained in this incident. Battalion Chief Garrison also served with the Garren Creek Fire Department.
