The United States Fire Administration has announced the death of Captain William “Tony” Anthony Baumgartner, 70, of the Lawrence Mill Volunteer Fire Department on 5 February 2024.

On Monday, Feb. 5, 2024, Captain William “Tony” Anthony Baumgartner was returning to the station from a residential structure fire when the apparatus he was driving left the roadway. He was pronounced deceased at the scene from the injuries he sustained in the accident.
