USFA On-Duty Death: New York

The United States Fire Administration has announced the death of Firefighter Daniel S. DeWolf, 52, of the Fairville Volunteer Fire Department on 21 January 2024.

On Sunday, Jan. 21, 2024, Firefighter Daniel S. DeWolf responded to the scene of a chimney fire. While attempting to establish a water supply line, he collapsed. EMS on scene immediately initiated CPR. Firefighter DeWolf was then transported to the local hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The cause of his death has yet to be determined. Firefighter DeWolf was past chief of the Fairville Volunteer Fire Department from 2015 to 2016.
