The United States Fire Administration has announced the death of Chief Ralph Michael Stegbauer, 71, of the Concord Green Township Fire Department on 25 November 2023.

On Saturday, Nov. 25, 2023, Chief Ralph Michael Stegbauer and Captain Jeffery Skaggs were utilizing a mechanical lift to make repairs to the radio tower when the lift tipped over. Both were ejected from the tower basket from several feet in the air. Chief Stegbauer and Captain Skaggs were pronounced deceased at the scene from the injuries they sustained in the fall.
