USFA On-Duty Death: New Jersey

The United States Fire Administration has announced the death of Lieutenant Justin Bower, 30, of the Kinnelon Volunteer Fire Company on 18 November 2023.

On Saturday, Nov. 18, 2023, Lieutenant Justin Bower responded to a carbon monoxide alarm at a residence. After returning home, approximately 2 hours later, his wife found him unconscious and immediately called 9-1-1. Emergency personnel attempted to revive him but were unsuccessful. He passed away at his home from an apparent heart attack.
