The United States Fire Administration has announced the death of Firefighter/EMT Andrew “Drew” B. Price, 39, of the Chicago Fire Department on 13 November 2023.

On Monday, Nov. 13, 2023, firefighters responded to a fire in a four-story building. The building houses the Lincoln Station Bar and Restaurant on the ground floor and apartments on the upper floors. Firefighter/EMT Andrew “Drew” B. Price was on the roof opening up holes for ventilation when he fell through a skylight shaft. A mayday was called and Firefighter Price was immediately located; however, they needed to breach a wall to reach him. After being rescued, he was immediately rushed to the Illinois Masonic Hospital where he later died from the injuries he sustained in the fall.

  1. Out of genuine curiosity, why is the activity listed as advancing hoseline/fire attack when the cause was falling down a shaft while performing ventilation?
