Earlier: West Virginia Forestry Worker Killed While Fighting Wildfire

The United States Fire Administration has announced the death of Service Forester Cody J. Mullens, 28, of the West Virginia Division of Forestry on 13 April 2023.

On Thursday, April 13, 2023, Service Forester Cody J. Mullens was fighting a fire in Fayette County. While at the scene, a tree fell on him, killing him instantly.
