EMMITSBURG, Md. — The United States Fire Administration (USFA) has announced the on-duty death of Firefighter/Commissioner/Honorary Chief James Lukashuk, 64, of Parsippany Troy-Hills Fire District 6 on 23 July 2026.
Firefighter/Commissioner/Honorary Chief James Lukashuk responded to two emergency calls on July 22, 2026, and returned home in the evening. Early the following morning, Firefighter/Commissioner/Honorary Chief Lukashuk was found unresponsive. Emergency medical services personnel responded but, despite all efforts, Firefighter/Commissioner/Honorary Chief Lukashuk was pronounced deceased at his home from a cardiovascular event.
