California Fire Department Recruit Dies During Training

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, Calif. – A volunteer fire department recruit in California suffered a medical emergency during training and died on the scene.

KION 46 reported that volunteer recruit Daniel Lamothe was stricken during a training session at the Ben Lomond Training Center.

Efforts to revive Lamothe, 38, by medical personnel on the scene were unsuccessful. An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.
