EMMITSBURG, Maryland – The United States Fire Administration has announced the death of Captain Merrill Bone, 61, of the Unified Fire Authority on 31 October 2021.
On Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2021, Captain Merrill Bone responded to an EMS call at a residence with a patient with a known case of COVID-19. He subsequently contracted the virus and passed away on Sunday, Oct. 31, 2021.
