EMMITSBURG, Maryland – The United States Fire Administration has announced the death of Firefighter/EMT Michael Pickering, 45, of the Chicago Fire Department on 8 October 2021.
While on-duty, Firefighter/EMT Michael Pickering responded to several EMS calls with patients with COVID-19. He subsequently contracted the virus and passed away on Friday, Oct. 8, 2021.
