Kansas Firefighter Killed, Electrocuted at Crash Scene

ELKHART, Kansas – Morton County Emergency Management has announced the death of a firefighter on Sunday, according to a Facebook post Monday by the agency.

The post states that on 15 August first responders in Morton County were dispatched to a vehicle rollover with unknown occupants shortly before 1800 hours.

During a search for victims a firefighter came in contact with damaged power lines.

CPR was started by personnel on the scene and the firefighter, whose identity has not been released, was transported to Morton County Hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

No other information was released.
