USFA On-Duty Death: Texas

EMMITSBURG, Maryland – The United States Fire Administration has announced the death of Firefighter Daniel “Danny” Ireton, 60, of the Martin County Volunteer Fire Department on 4 August 2021.

On Wednesday, August 4, 2021, while Firefighter Daniel “Danny” Ireton and another firefighter were responding to a motor vehicle collision, the fire apparatus Firefighter Ireton was driving struck another vehicle.  Firefighter Ireton was pronounced deceased at the scene.  The other firefighter was taken to the hospital and remains in stable condition.
