Texas Firefighter Killed in Response Crash

One dead, one injured in crash with semi

MARTIN COUNTY, Texas – One volunteer firefighter is dead and another is injured following a crash with a tractor-trailer on Wednesday morning.

KOSA and two other local stations report that two members of the Stanton Volunteer Fire Department were responding to a crash when their apparatus collided with a semi on FM 3113.

Local authorities have identified the firefighters involved in social media posts. The deceased firefighter is Danny Ireton. The injured firefighter is Allan Carby. The fire department says that Carby is hospitalized and facing surgeries and a long recovery.

No other details about the crash have been reported.
