EMMITSBURG, Maryland – The United States Fire Administration has announced the on-duty death of Firefighter Recruit Tyvaughn Eldridge, 26, of Chesterfield County Fire and EMS on 3 July 2021.

On Thursday, July 1, 2021, Firefighter Recruit Tyvaughn Eldridge suffered a medical emergency during mandatory physical fitness training at the fire department. He passed away on Saturday, July 3, 2021.  Investigation into the incident is ongoing.
