USFA On-Duty Deaths, Updated

An update of LODDs from the USFA after the partial government shutdown.

The United States Fire Administration has announced the first firefighter fatality in its return to service following the partial government shutdown

None of the deaths were traumatic fireground deaths, but were medical emergencies. The USFA’s total at the end of 2025 was 81.

The firefighter was found unresponsive inside the fire apparatus.
